cPAID Hosts the 1st CyberHammer Hackathon in Lisbon

On 24 January 2026, the cPAID project successfully organised the 1st CyberHammer Hackathon, held in Lisbon, Portugal, in conjunction with the CSP Winter School. The event brought together a diverse and highly motivated cybersecurity community for a full day of collaboration, problem-solving, and innovation. The hackathon attracted more than 30 individual participants, who formed over 12 teams to tackle a wide range of cybersecurity challenges. Participants came from different backgrounds and skill levels, fostering an inclusive and dynamic environment that encouraged teamwork and knowledge exchange. The CyberHammer Hackathon featured 25 distinct challenges, covering multiple domains of cybersecurity. These challenges were designed to reflect real-world scenarios and emerging threats, encouraging participants to apply both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Topics spanned various cybersecurity fields, promoting creative approaches and innovative technical solutions. Throughout the event, teams worked intensively to analyse problems, develop strategies, and propose solutions within a limited timeframe. The combination of competition and collaboration created a stimulating atmosphere and highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary approaches in addressing cybersecurity issues.

By organising the CyberHammer Hackathon alongside the CSP Winter School, cPAID reinforced its commitment to capacity building, hands-on learning, and community engagement in cybersecurity. The event not only enhanced participants’ technical competencies but also strengthened collaboration among students, researchers, and professionals. The success of the 1st CyberHammer Hackathon marks an important milestone for the cPAID project and lays the foundation for future hackathons and innovation-driven activities within the project’s ecosystem.
