AI in Financial Services 2025: Prof. Xenakis Highlights AI Security and Ethics

On July 2nd, Prof. Christos Xenakis (IQB) participated as an Academic Keynote Speaker at the AI in Financial Services 2025 conference in Athens, Greece.

In his keynote speech titled “AI in Finance: Revolution or Risk?”, Prof. Xenakis explored the disruptive role of Artificial Intelligence in the financial sector, with a particular emphasis on emerging threats, cybersecurity challenges, and ethical considerations.

During his talk, the cPAID project was introduced to a broad audience of stakeholders from both industry and academia. The presentation highlighted cPAID’s vision to develop a cloud-based, platform-agnostic defence framework for the holistic protection of AI applications against adversarial threats.

Key objectives of cPAID include:
• Embedding security-and-privacy-by-design across the AI pipeline
• Assessing the robustness of ML/DL models against adversarial attacks
• Promoting AI development aligned with EU ethical principles

This dissemination activity, supported by cPAID, provided a valuable opportunity to communicate the project’s goals and expected impact within the evolving AI and finance landscape.
